Learning From Mister Rogers
I have to give credit where credit is due. Despite my slight disgust with what has become of Digg lately, I found this wonderful video clip on its front page.
Countless mornings of my childhood were spent with a very special friend - a "neighbor" that inspired millions of others as well. Reverend Frederick Rogers, better known as Mister Rogers, taught children in many ways through his PBS television show. This is a clip from a 1969 hearing in which Rogers appeared before the Senate's Subcommittee on Communications to support PBS. Rogers passionately discussed how he felt public broadcasting could be used positively in early childhood development. The chairman presiding over the hearing said he felt goosebumps. It's hard not to.
"What do you do with the mad that you feel?"
