Those clever spammers..
I was getting a ridiculous amount of spam on some old entries, so I had to enable moderation for first-time commenters. Just in case I actually start to blog regularly again..

And we're back.. I've been silent on the web for awhile. I hope to make a return. When I do, I will get rid of some of these ugly colors.
In the mean time, I thought I would plug a site my colleague is working on. Due to the pending demise of the social networking site Pownce, my friend Joel is working on a replacement of sorts @ www.topixz.com. Register early and you might make it in for the beta testing.
Wow, it’s hard to believe that a year ago I began this little blogging project. Ironically, just as I began the school year last year with a new format, I am again switching blogging engines. Last year I took on the load of writing my own software for it, which over the year taught me a lot. However, with my schedule getting increasingly hectic, I decided it was necessary to install something.
Wordpress it is. I must say, I’m initially impressed with the new version of WP. I just finished a slightly annoying process of importing all the post data over from the old database.. which was met with a few concessions. Here are a few notes on the updated TC:

It’s late, and sadly I cannot sleep. At about midnight I yawned a couple times and went through all the “going to bed” motions, but it never happened. It’s too hot. Only now, at about 2am, am I finally feeling a cooler breeze through the window.
Normally, I could get to sleep regardless, but I guess everything is up-side down lately. I have even been trying to cut down on coffee. Yes, that qualifies as up-side down. Trying to replace 4-6 cups of coffee with a bottle of green tea is proving to be a bit of a challenge. Still, I must recommend Teas’ Tea. For an unsweetened beverage, it has actually grown on me.
Well that’s about all the randomness I can poorly attempt to weave together.
Ah yes, I must note that I am now a proud user of Ubuntu, a pretty sweet Linux distribution. With installing this on my old laptop, plus more exposure to it at work, I’m starting to get a grip on the geeky side of operating systems. However, I will say that it was absolutely terrible trying to get my old wireless PCI card to work with Linux. It finally works however, thanks to Google and ndiswrapper.
I’m tired of this design already. It’s too small. Ever since I started reading A List Apart, I’ve been noticing many designing flaws in my work. I’ve got a concept for something with larger text, and a more open look. Maybe I’ll implement it sometime soon, along with all the cool little widgets I plan on coding..
I should write more often. And maybe with a real topic. ![]()
