Going Mac

I got my new toy in the mail today — a Macbook. Yes folks, I've gone to Apple for my new machine. This is, of course, a supplementary machine. I felt that I needed a reliable laptop, seeing as I am a commuter now. When I read about the portability and battery life on the new Macbooks, I drooled a bit. So, a thousand bucks later, I have a pretty kickin' mobile system.

I've been testing out the full potential of the battery life. I watched a few movie trailers in iTunes, and then spent about twenty minutes video-chatting with an old roommate over iChat. It's still going strong — quite a change from my elderly Dell Inspiron 4150, which has a Pentium 4 processor in it. By the time I would launch a couple programs and get to work, it was hollering at me to give it some juice.

I managed to make good use out of that old heat packet though. Seeing as my job is requiring more and more Linux knowledge, I installed Ubuntu on it last month. I am now running Window, Linux and OSX in the same room. I don't discriminate :)
